Overview

  • San Leandro High School is very excited to announce that after a two-year process regarding how to change our school program to best meet the needs of our students and community, final decisions have been made and staff are beginning to prepare for these changes. These strategic changes are the result of several of the following influences: changes in curricular standards across several content areas, a new assessment system based on student performance instead of student knowledge, a new district technology landscape, research and development instigated by the state’s Career Pathway Trust (CPT) grant, anticipated refocus on career technical education, and an overall emphasis on increasing college and career readiness.

District staff worked diligently with parents, teachers, site administrative teams, community members, trustees, and experts from the field to inform the decisions associated with the changes. Last year, our board of education approved the suggested changes that emerged from a year long program evaluation and redesign process. Several of these changes will go into effect for the 2017-18 school year. These changes are shared on the tabs on the right-hand side of this page and will be updated as revisions are made.
