McKinley Elementary to Receive $10,000 Donation from Burlington Stores

Check will be presented on November 1, 2017

San Leandro – Students at McKinley Elementary School will soon have new classroom supplies thanks to a  $10,000 donation from Burlington Stores, Inc. in celebration of its new store in San Leandro. The donation will be officially presented to McKinley Principal Grozelia Ward during a school assembly on Wednesday, November 1, at 8:10 am.

Burlington, in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, makes a donation to a local school in each Grand Opening market to celebrate new store locations. The San Leandro Burlington store opened October 13 in the Westgate Shopping Center. The donation to McKinley Elementary will provide $10,000 in new supplies for the school. According to Principal Ward, the teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items such as art and PE materials, and new books for the library.

“On behalf of McKinley Elementary and the San Leandro Unified School District, I would like to sincerely thank Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for helping provide much-needed supplies to our school,” said Ward. “Our teachers look forward to using the funds to enhance learning in our school and in their classrooms.”
