This past month, Principal Bradley Frazier and Vice Principal Rachelle Parham received the annual San Leandro Chamber of Commerce Leaders in Education award on behalf of the San Leandro Adult School. Frazier and staff were recognized for their tireless commitment to improving the programs offered to the wide variety of students who are looking for transformative programs to change the trajectory of their lives.  “We work very hard to ensure our programs are as diverse as our student body,” said Principal Frazier, “By staying connected and responsive to our community, we have been able to build on our successes and better serve our population as we celebrate our 90 years in education."

In operation since 1926, the school offers a wide variety of Career Technical Education (CTE) courses, as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, parent education/preschool opportunities, apprenticeship readiness training, and high school diploma programs. New this semester, a customized Para Educator test preparation class is a welcome addition to the catalog, which is aligned to support placement for current job openings with the San Leandro Unified School District.  “We realized that our adult school programs have us perfectly positioned to address the current hiring shortage in the Bay Area,” said District Superintendent Dr. Mike McLaughlin, “We are able to better serve all of our students across all fourteen district schools if we maximize our existing strength for creating personalized learning pathways.”
