Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

  • A Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is one form of parent and community engagement that provides advice and recommendations to the SELPA for possible inclusion in the Local Plan.  Each SELPA has a Local Plan describing how it will provide special education services. The CAC is composed of parents, teachers and administrators who live and/or work within SELPA region.

    The CAC also provides informative workshops, assists parents understand and navigate the special education program.  The CAC is also responsible for celebrating exemplary parents, teachers and administrators at the annual Excellence in Education Awards.
