• SLXC 2019

We are expecting another great season for SLXC!  If you would like to be part of the program, please do the following as soon as possible!

    1.  If you have not joined the Remind101 texting group for this season, please do so immediately!  It is a new group each year so you need to make sure you do it again even if you are a returner.  Text the message @slxc19 to the number 81010 on your phones.  You will recieve updates, messages, and other info through this.  You can also contact me through Remind101 if you have any questions.

    2.  Register for the season by completing the FamilyID registration.  You are not officially on the team until you have registered and gotten a physical that is after May 2019.  Once you have signed up and gotten your physical, you need to go see the Athletic Director (Nick Thomas) in his office across from the girls' locker room to get cleared and get a "golden ticket" showing you're good to go.

    3.  The season officially began on August 12th and the last day to join will be August 23rd!!  Hurry up!

    4.  This is our 2019 Season Schedule and it is packed!  Please plan accordingly so that you can be at all the races and events.

  • Parents and Guardians,

I can't express how important you are in making this program work!  We are a large program bursting at the seams and I can always use extra help.  Most of the information you need in order for your student to participate in our athletics programs is under the Athletics tab of the slhs.net webpage.

The great thing about this sport is that if any of you yourself are runners, there is usually a free 2 mile coaches, community, and alumni race that you can participate in at most of the Invitationals.  It has been great running with and against the parents and guardians of my athletes throughout the years!

Again, we are an extremely large cross country team with over 175 runners last year!  Although we have buses, we will not have enough rides without parent drivers.  In order to be a parent driver, you will now need to be fingerprinted and have a cleared TB test.  Although this seems like a huge hassle, it is for the safety of our student athletes.  I am begging every parent that can make this happen to please do so.  This way every athlete can go to tall the races instead of only allowing certain athletes to fully participate.  Please contact me through email (vdoan@slusd.us) or your child's Remind101 group texting app if you have any questions.

I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you and thank you again for providing me with the opportunity to work with your student athlete.

    With Great Appreciation,

    Victor Doan

One of the most gratifying things about running is seeing your improvements throughout the season.  Please update your times for all the time trials we do throughout the season.  These are great for seeing how much faster you are getting and also where you should be training at for optimal performance.
