• Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

     

    My name is Ms. Jacob, and I will be your child’s 7th grade English teacher this school year. I am looking forward to helping your child have a productive and successful school year.

     
    Supplies
                Students need to bring their binders with their homework, notebooks for English class, binder paper, and their planners everyday to class.  When we need the assigned textbooks/novels, then they must also bring their books to class every day. 

     

    Homework

                Homework will be assigned every night, including Friday. Homework will vary from reading assignments, comprehension questions, writing assignments, or vocabulary and grammar assignments.

                If a student is absent, it is his or her responsibility to find out missed assignments through me or a fellow classmate. If a student has any questions or concerns, he or she needs to see me immediately.      


    Grading Policy

                Students will be graded using the A through F scale. I will use a point system to grade assignments such as quizzes, tests, writing assignments/essays, and projects.  Late homework and assignments will be accepted, but will be marked down. Book reports may not be turned in late!

     

                Parents can also check their students’ grades online on the ABI Parent Portal.  This is a great tool to use to check student progress in my class.  I update ABI at least once a week.
