Book & Lyrics by Eric Idle, Music by John Du Prez & Eric Idle
This version of the 2005 Tony Award winning musical, Spamalot, is designed specifically for middle school actors of all kinds! The story centers around King Arthur and his search for the Holy Grail. After a rather silly bit of miscommunication leads us briefly to Finland, our king and his ever faithful squire Patsy begin to search for knights to accompany him on his Quest. He finds his first in the unlikely guise of Dennis, a hideous local mud farmer. After convincing the locals that he is the king by conjuring the Lady of Lake to prove it, Dennis is transformed into Sir Galahad. The rest of the knights are found far and wide and The Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, send our stalwart band on their way. They meet up with an unforgettable slew of outrageously kooky characters and musical hilarity ensues as Arthur and the Knights make their journey.More about Bay Area Children’s Theatre Educational ProgramsBACT’s theatre education program gives youth opportunities to learn the art and craft of theatre, gain performance skills, build self-confidence, and shine as part of a team. Our after-school classes and camps throughout the Bay Area range from introductory theatre experiences to full-scale productions. Our specialty is “triple threat” musical theatre—singing, dancing and acting. We believe, and we tell parents, that theatre education prepares students for success in the world ahead. BACT students gain the skills and the confidence to stand tall, speak up and sing out. They learn what it takes to create an entire show. And—just as in sports—they participate in defining and achieving goals as a member of a well-trained, well-prepared team. BACT teaching artists are highly regarded for their professional skills, their rapport with students of all backgrounds, and their emphasis on goal-setting, self-discipline, teamwork—and fun! - Provides organizational planners for all students
